Las Cruces is an outdoor enthusiasts dream. It is sunny here nearly every day of the year. That coupled with some of the mildest winters you'll find anywhere in the United States and you have the perfect setup to get out and do something outdoors.
The City of Las Cruces has over 40 parks and recreation facilities. You can go swimming, play tennis, play horseshoes or even have a barbecue if you feel like. Las Cruces takes a lot of pride in its parks and it shows. All of these parks are marked and numbered on the Las Cruces City Map and Las Cruces MLS Area Map which can be viewed and/or downloaded in the Maps area of this site.
The area around Las Cruces is one of the most geologically diverse in the nation. That causes some drastic changes in your surroundings with just a little travel.
An hour to the East you can be on snow capped mountains skiing in Cloudcroft or Ruidoso, or on a hike overlooking White Sands. To the West you can be sitting in a natural hot spring in the Gila National Forrest.
More of a water person? An hour to the North and you can be sitting lake side at Elephant Butte or Caballo.
You can also travel about an hour south and visit Waco Tanks, one of the most popular rock climbing areas in the country.
The Las Cruces area has it all. We are currently visiting each and every one of these areas to give you a more personal look at these places and what they have to offer. There are so many places to experience that we expect this part of the site to be under construction for some time but.
All of these parks have been split into one of three categories; City Parks, State Parks and National Parks. Use the navigation links to the left to get you started.
