“Growing grapes in New Mexico is tough, and we’re still learning,” said Florent Lescombes of New Mexico Wineries in Deming, N.M.

He made the comment while also noting that in January, New Mexico Wineries won the Best White Wine in the Nation Award during the San Francisco Wine Competition with its Gewurztraminer white wine, which was selected from 5,000 wineries.
